Joel McHale – The Soup

Joel McHale Responds to Mickey Rourke

Posted by: Admin on: April 24, 2009

It seems Joel McHale wants to make it clear to Mickey Rourke that he didn’t diss his dead dog after all, after Rourke threatened to slap McHale in the face.

In a very funny ‘Talk Soup’ clip, Joel McCrae (you’ll get in when you watch the vid) defends his joke.

Love the outfit Joel!

Mickey Rourke wants to beat up Joel McHale

Posted by: Admin on: April 20, 2009

mickeyrourkeThe Wrestler star Mickey Rourke has threatened to slap Joel McHale in the face after Joel made a joke on The Soup about Rourke’s Chihuahua Loki who had recently died .

Rourke make the statement at the premiere of his new film The Informers by saying

“Who’s the guy who made fun of my dog? .. Motherfu*$@r, who’s that guy? Joel McHale? He’s going to get a slap in the face, that ain’t right. If you see him, tell him he’s gonna get a slap in the face”.

Ouch!

Joel hasn’t made any comment back – perhaps he’s in hiding? I don’t blame him, I’d be nervous too.

Real Housewives of NYC on The Soup Blog

Posted by: Admin on: April 14, 2009

This clip shows LuAnn de Lesseps of The Real Housewives of NYC offering career advice to some boys and girls at the Brooklyn Boys and Girls Club and she tells one girl that she is too fat to be a model in a very patronizing way.

I really hope that poor girl doesn’t lose any self esteem over de Lesseps advice!

The Soup Green Screen

Posted by: Admin on: April 10, 2009

As you probably already know, The Soup with Joel McHale is filmed in front of a green screen in which the clips and background is added by computers.

But have you ever wondered what the The Soup set looks like with the green screen?  Here’s a great picture of behind the scenes that I found on the E! website that shows Joel showing Rock of Love’s Bret Michaels the set of The Soup.

I thought it was really cool, hope you like it.

Kim Kardashian on The Soup

Posted by: Admin on: March 28, 2009

Kim Kardashian was spotted getting your nails done in Beverley Hills on Friday 27 March before heading off for her appearance with the rest of the Kardashian clan on The Soup with Joel McHale.

Kim was also spotted picking up her outfit at the dry cleaners which presumably was the outfit she wore on the show.

The Soup has a new segment Gavel Bangin’

Posted by: Admin on: March 28, 2009

The Soup (27 Mar 09) has a new segment – it’s called Gavel Bangin’ and shows funny clips from all of the ‘reality’ court room tv shows that we see.

In this week’s episode, Gavel Bangin’ showed Judge Jeanine Pirro and everyone’s favorite judge – Judge Judy!

Not only do we have a good laugh, we get to learn all about rocket science.

Take it away Joel:

Joel McHale and Baby Isaac on Countdown

Posted by: Admin on: March 20, 2009

This video is from last year when Joel McHale was on Countdown with Keith Olbermann and he took his new baby Isaac with him to discuss hot political topics (like Sarah Palin’s clothes). Joel let Isaac climb all over the desk and even pee on him. Ha Ha.

Isaac was born to Joel and his wife Sarah in March 2008.

Joel was on Countdown with Keith Olbermann this week as well (without his babies).

Joel McHale Stand Up Comedian?

Posted by: Admin on: March 17, 2009

Over the past few months, Joel has been travelling around the US doing stand up shows.  While he isn’t a traditional stand up comic (although he IS piss your pants funny) he has been getting sold out shows due to his popularity on both E!’s The Soup and his emerging acting career.

It’s safe to say that Joel is HOT right now.

If you are thinking of going to one of his stand up routines, what would you expect to see and hear?  Well let’s Joel answer that question.

Here is his answer in a previous interview about what fan’s can expect from his gig:

“I know people are coming because they are ‘Soup’ fans,” he said, “so I talk a lot about pop culture and behind the scenes at ‘The Soup.’ …

“The rest of the show is stories about my family, observations and all. I make fun of my parents. I did it in my hometown of Seattle, and my mom and mother-in-law were sitting there. It was a good way to pay them back in front of 1,700 people.”

Want a quick sneak peak at one of his stand up performances.  Here is a video I found on YouTube of a snippet of his routine:

Joel McHale is the host of The Soup

Posted by: Admin on: March 16, 2009

It’s had many different hosts including Greg Kinnear and Aisha Taylor, and used to be called Talk Soup, but now The Soup is proving to be funnier than ever and it’s all because of it’s funny witty host Joel Mchale.

With it’s own cast of characters from Mankini to Lou the Chihuahua (who, by the way, is owned by the Executive Producer Edward Boyd and not Joel), The Soup has garnered a cult following with it’s in jokes and fun poked at the worst of television shows on air.

Some of the regular segments include:

  • Chat Stew
  • Chicks Man
  • Let’s take some E!
  • Reality Show Clip Time
  • Tales from Home Shopping
  • What the Kids are Watching
  • The Mail Nurse
  • Ad Nauseum
  • Clip of the Week, and more.

The Soup is also popular for guest appearances with celebrity’s like Seth Green, Bret Michales, Corey Feldman and Tila Tequila all having appeared on episodes.
